Raised by a Texas born artist in the theater community of Kansas City, Amanda was surrounded by painters, sculptures, playwrights, dancers, actors, and musicians from a very young age. Amanda's passion is to share the creative spirit that has been gifted to her by these beautiful people. As a teacher, she has gotten to work with budding artists young and old and is constantly inspired by their unconventional views of subject matter and materials. As an artist, Amanda combines classic techniques acquired during her education in fine art, art history, and scenic painting with her own adaptations inspired by modern voices, vivid colors, and theatrical materials. She is fascinated with the humbling vastness of the earth and skies, eternally painted by light and atmosphere.
